AXELOT WMS X5 stores data about business partners (customers, suppliers, internal organizations, etc.); data on inventory items (goods, raw materials, finished products, etc.) stored in the warehouse; data on warehouse employees and MHEs. In most cases, master data is loaded from the ERP system, and then complemented in AXELOT WMS X5 for the warehouse use.

Lot or batch tracking makes it possible to consolidate SKUs based on specific characteristics (expiration date, production date, client ID, serial number, etc.) and then restore the exact contents of the lot during shipping, monitor the shipped goods based on lots at any time and any stage, from production to the end consumer – traceability - and block lot shipments, if necessary.

Effective warehouse management presupposes effective use of material handling equipment (MHEs) – some of the most expensive and scarce warehouse resources. AXELOT WMS X5 uses flexible mechanisms for putaway planning using pre-defined putaway strategies and algorithms. The putaway strategy allows you to describe in the system under what conditions and in what sequence specific putaway algorithms should be executed. When planning a bin for a load putaway various parameters can be used to influence bin selection. For example, using various parameters, you can specify the placement of an item in a designated area for it, or for the same item, or in a selection area if there is no item there, or in an empty or partially filled bin, etc. AXELOT WMS X5 also enables to carry out putaway automatically taking into account product compatibility rules.

AXELOT WMS X5, different types of picking can be configured. For example:

• Conventional waveless picking - one warehouse worker picks 1 order at a time.
• Zone picking - the order is split into parts, distributed to several warehouse workers (usually each working in his own area), and then the order selected in parts is consolidated in the consolidation or packaging area.
• Wave or group picking - the goods are selected in one batch for several orders at the same time, after picking, they are moved to the sorting zone and there they are sorted by orders.

Some of the operations in the warehouse require a bit more than just a mobile handheld with scanner. Sometimes you need a workplace equipped with a large screen, keyboard, barcode scanner, printer, scales, etc. Typically, such workplaces are used for receiving operations and for performing packaging operations. If necessary, a stationary workstation can be made mobile by installing the necessary components on a trolley equipped with an autonomous power system (batteries). AXELOT WMS X5 supports multilingualism not only at the level of configuration interfaces and radio data terminals (handhelds), but also at the data level. Alternative names of directory elements can be set in the system.
