AXELOT WMS X5 stores data about business partners (customers, suppliers, internal organizations, etc.); data on inventory items (goods, raw materials, finished products, etc.) stored in the warehouse; data on warehouse employees and MHEs. In most cases, master data is loaded from the ERP system, and then complemented in AXELOT WMS X5 for the warehouse use.
- Full traceability – from the manufacturer to a store shelf
Lot or batch tracking makes it possible to consolidate SKUs based on specific characteristics (expiration date, production date, client ID, serial number, etc.) and then restore the exact contents of the lot during shipping, monitor the shipped goods based on lots at any time and any stage, from production to the end consumer – traceability - and block lot shipments, if necessary.
- MHE flat run optimization
Effective warehouse management presupposes effective use of material handling equipment (MHEs) – some of the most expensive and scarce warehouse resources. An example of such equipment would be a reach truck. AXELOT WMS X5 allows you to minimize idle runs of MHEs due to the possibility of generating "overlapping" jobs. In addition, when planning warehouse operations in AXELOT WMS X5, job prioritization is carried out, which ensures that the high-lift truck or reach truck operator is only given jobs that cannot be performed with less expensive equipment. This approach can significantly increase the efficiency of handling equipment, reduce the total number of units of equipment and reduce the number of the most expensive units.
- Support of various types of receiving methods, cross-docking and quality control
AXELOT WMS X5 supports the execution of the receiving processes in several stages. The number of steps used in receiving is determined by the processes specified in the receipt plan.
An example of a multi-stage receiving is preliminary receiving method, which assumes acceptance of packages without recalculation with the possibility of subsequent recalculation of packages by content. AXELOT WMS X5 also allows you to carry out receiving with the simultaneous putaway of goods to storage, as well as perform other additional steps, for example, re-labeling of the received goods.
AXELOT WMS X5 provides the ability to carry out quality control of goods. Upon detection of substandard goods, automatic planning of placing such goods in a special area can be performed (in order to exclude its accidental mixing with conditioned goods) or returned to the supplier. As part of the inbound process, AXELOT WMS X5 also allows you to take samples of goods for laboratory tests. For the duration of laboratory tests, AXELOT WMS X5 provides blocking of selected lots for shipment and their unblocking upon completion.
- Smart putaway – system-guided putaway of goods according to rules and strategies
AXELOT WMS X5 uses flexible mechanisms for putaway planning using pre-defined putaway strategies and algorithms. The putaway strategy allows you to describe in the system under what conditions and in what sequence specific putaway algorithms should be executed. When planning a bin for a load putaway various parameters can be used to influence bin selection. For example, using various parameters, you can specify the placement of an item in a designated area for it, or for the same item, or in a selection area if there is no item there, or in an empty or partially filled bin, etc. AXELOT WMS X5 also enables to carry out putaway automatically taking into account product compatibility rules.
- Support of various picking methods
In AXELOT WMS X5, different types of picking can be configured. For example:
- Conventional waveless picking - one warehouse worker picks 1 order at a time.
- Zone picking - the order is split into parts, distributed to several warehouse workers (usually each working in his own area), and then the order selected in parts is consolidated in the consolidation or packaging area.
- Wave or group picking - the goods are selected in one batch for several orders at the same time, after picking, they are moved to the sorting zone and there they are sorted by orders.
- Cluster picking - orders are combined into small clusters, the warehouse employee, when picking, immediately puts the goods into different containers, each tied to its own order.
- Order picking trolley (put-by-light)
The pick-by-light trolley developed by AXELOT allows the warehouse worker to pick several orders at a time, which is especially convenient when working with small-piece goods. The "smart" system allows you to quickly and accurately collect the goods in cells: the display of the device shows the required number of units of goods, and the lights indicate its location. The picker only needs to pick and confirm it by pressing one button. This device greatly facilitates and speeds up the work of warehouse personnel in the order picking area. The available options for canceling an incorrect action or correcting an order with one click, as well as a simple and intuitive interface of the device, reduce to zero the likelihood of an error when completing a task. May be supplied in a package with advanced versions of Axelot WMS X5.
